I've got Moodle! Now what?

This morning at 10:00  I did this presentation at the K12 Open Minds conference in Indianapolis.  I promised those that were in attendaance that I would add my materials as a blog post so this is what I promised.  I felt it was a good session and they even brought in a bunch of extra chairs so people didn't have to sit on the floor. I talked about a windows based multimedia conversion tool called Super.  Unfortunately this is a Windows only too, but the FFmpeg encoder is available on all platforms and as far as I know there GUI interfaces on Mac and possibly on Linux.  If I find the GUIs on the other platforms I will post them up on another post.  You can get the Windows version of Super at http://www.erightsoft.info/GetFile.php?SUPERsetup.exe.  Part 2 of this post will come after I get to my next session.

Have you tried "Format Factory"

Free, but not open source. http://www.formatoz.com/ converts audio, picture, and video files. Works well!

Media conversion

I just discovered Format Factory http://www.formatoz.com/ which has a very slick interface -- one I can give to non-techie teachers. I've only used it a couple times, but it worked great to convert my Kodak Easy Share MOV's to the wmv's I needed for Movie Maker! Finally, I don't have to give up my favorite 'easy to use' cameras for classroom just because of file format issues. Yippee!

WinFF

WinFF is another good GUI program for FFMPEG. Super tends to crash on me quite a bit for some reason. Not to mention it's ridiculously confusing and their home page is AWFUL. WinFF, however, is clean and well-designed: http://code.google.com/p/winff/

WinFF

Thanks Justin!  I will look at this tool for my conversion application.  I agree with you entirely on Super.  The web site is terrible and on occasion it does crash.
